2 Bedroom Cabins (Bullrush, Dragonfly and Kingfisher)

The three x two bedroomed cabins each have two bathrooms, one ensuite and one family shower room plus the very practical addition of a utility room.  Every aspect of the cabins has been carefully thought about to provide a comfortable, home-from-home experience and they are spacious, airy and extremely comfortable.

Each cabin has a large, covered, and enclosed veranda – ideal for securing dogs and small children but also ideal for sitting outside for meals or just chilling with a glass of wine and watching the water birds on the stream and lake. Bullrush is the first cabin and nearest the lake so enjoys mostly lake views from the veranda.  Dragonfly and Kingfisher can also view the lake from their verandas but mainly look directly onto the stream.  Each cabin has its own grassy area around it with paths – useful for bringing BBQ’s for an alfresco eating experience.

All the doors are wide enough for wheelchairs apart from the master bedroom and the cabin is all on one level. Bullrush has a partially adapted shower room for guests with mobility problems, though is NOT a wet room but it is large enough for wheelchair access. The cabins are entered via a side door accessed by a ramp suitable for wheelchair use and which leads into the utility room. Your car(s) can be parked directly next to the ramp for your convenience, particularly useful when carrying in heavy luggage or shopping. The internal floor space is approximately 81 sq.m.

Living Areas

The cabins are entered via the utility room which has a washer/drier, sink and pegs for coats. It also houses the hot water cylinder and broom cupboard and would be a useful and warm place for a wet dog. The utility room also leads into the internal hallway and from there you can either turn right to the bedrooms or left to the large living room.

The open plan living room is very spacious, about 7m x 5m, with plenty of seating, coffee tables, lamps, pictures, dressers, bookcases and large flat screen Smart TV’s.  The dining table can seat 4/5 people and is positioned next to a large window, so there is plenty of natural light to read the paper at breakfast time if you are not having an al fresco breakfast on the veranda.  It also makes a valuable and tranquil workspace should you bring your portable ‘office’ with you, although you may get distracted by the views outside! The kitchens are all bespoke and are fully equipped with dishwashers, large fridge freezers, 1.5 ovens and plenty of cooking utensils and pots and pans.  They are designed with the cook in mind.

There are windows on all three sides and this, together with the French doors and high ceilings, makes for a very spacious, light and airy living area although equally, they are warm and cosy in the winter as wood is a great insulator.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The lodges each have two bedrooms – the master bedroom with a superking bed which can be split into single beds plus en-suite bathroom and the other, larger bedroom (which allows a third (Z) bed if required) also with a superking bed which can be split into twin beds.  This bedroom would use the separate, large shower room next door. The bedrooms are to the back of the cabins off the internal hallway and separated by the door leading into the large, open plan living room, so this can be shut for guests’ privacy and also act as a useful sound barrier for families with young children.

The bedrooms are furnished with comfortable beds, good lighting, bedside tables, wardrobes and chests of drawers.  The bedding is top quality Egyptian cotton with lovely throws and cushions and the big windows afford lots of natural light, although the blinds do have black out linings so you will not be woken at the crack of dawn unless you want to be! The family bathrooms are spacious with 1m x 1m low entry showers and the ensuite bathrooms are smaller with a bath with shower over. Both have plenty of shelving and are guests are provided with large fluffy bath sheets, hand towels and bath mats and nice soaps. Bullrush cabin has a partially adapted shower room for guests with mobility problems, though is NOT a wet room but it is large enough for wheelchair access.
