Our Site Facilities
Below are facilities available to our guests at Willowbank Lodges…
Wi Fi
The idea of a holiday is usually to ‘get away from it all’. However, we realise that many people require broadband even when on holiday and we have now been able to set up unlimited free WiFi in all the cabins.
Bicycles
We are happy to create a space to accommodate guests’ bicycles in one of our own sheds and anyone requiring the use of the shed will be given a key. A concreted bike/boot/dog washing area has been created next to the stream, with a hose permanently in place. We are right on the National Cycle Route 4 (www.sustrans.org.uk) and for those interested in family cycling, there are many picturesque quiet lanes to explore from the property.
Laundry room
There is now a laundry room which the guests of the smaller cabins are welcome to use if they wish…just ask and I will give you a key.
Tennis
Use of the tennis courts at our excellent Pewsey Tennis Club (less than two miles away) for Willowbank Lodges’ guests is available, price to be negotiated individually. This LTA affiliated, friendly club has six floodlit macadam courts and our guests have use of the courts during the day and also in the evenings at the weekend. Coaching is also available. Full details to be found in the cabin information file but in the meantime take a look at their website www.pewseytennisclub.net.
Lake
Originally four trout pools which have been converted into a lake of about one acre with an island in the middle for the varied wildlife and our own nesting swans. At the moment there is no fishing on the property, but there is a trout fishery 2-3 miles away and it may be possible to purchase a day ticket through the Pewsey & District Angling Association for coarse fishing on the canal (a few metres away). Details of local fishing, fly or coarse, can be found on the website www.waterscape.com. In the meantime, visitors have the use of the lake for walks or picnics – perhaps stroll around the lake with a nice glass of wine and sit on one of the benches and watch the wildlife in the early evening sun.
Drinking Water
We are extremely fortunate in having our own private supply of fresh, UVA filtered spring water which is tested by the Council every year, so no need for guests to bring their own bottled water!
Local Village of Pewsey
Our local village is under two miles away and has everything to satisfy most people’s needs. We have an excellent Co-op, Boots chemist, Lloyds Bank, petrol station, post office, baker’s, butcher’s, two electrical shops, hardware and pet shop, three hairdressers, stationary shop, news agents, several cafes, pubs, an Indian restaurant/takeaway, take away Chinese/fish and chip shop, two florists, a charity shop, delicatessen, two repair garages, a bowls club, an excellent tennis club and a leisure centre. Last of all, a railway station with a fast service to London or the West Country – basically, a lot of facilities for a small village!
